1U & 3U Eurorack Modules • Re: Starthief's Eurorack adventure, 2016-???

Every once in a while I briefly contemplate downsizing -- or even getting out of Eurorack and only running with software and semi-modulars. The process always grinds quickly to a halt because there's too much I'd prefer to keep. There's no benefit in downsizing just a little (unless I want to clean out my Pod60 to make room for another desktop synth), and even if I could cut things in half or less I like my wife's artwork on the case that I have.

...

I still intend to go through literally all of my modules, deep dive and take notes and find what I love and what I don't. I've done that with my effects plugins and am currently partway through another album recording... but also kind of taking a break to mostly play video games and decompress from shit going on at work and the stress of my parents moving to town and getting their place repaired in time for that.
I've had similar thoughts buzzing around for a while. I note here that the stress mentioned tends to result in these thoughts being amplified, with one of two results: I sell a couple of things, or GAS comes back hard as a dopamine substitute. Avoiding the second one is pretty key. Neither of these tend to result in actual note-taking deep dives in the manner of yours - thinking of your excellent Beads and Hertz Donut explorations in particular - though at least the push to explore gets me to use things I'd been avoiding.

Are there any common themes in the 208hp you'd perhaps be able to excise? I know that when I've done this the results often surprise me, in that what I think I want to keep in an abstract feature-checklist sense and what I actually want to keep in a specific-module sense end up being quite different and contradictory.
