one other BIG point that hasnt been brought up is the height difference, the 301 jacks are 1.5mm taller than the 518 parts, so all the pots, switches, etc that are made for a 10mm gap will now have an extra 1.5mm gap to deal with. that imo is way more important for a mechanically stable device and the other thig i cant stand about the old 301 jacks is that they have the threaded part just set in the plastic, ive seen dozens of those break where the threaded part breaks free and you get the spins as a result..
