2 stereo LPGs with 2 separate effects paths = 2 DXGs + some magic module to mix 2+ stereo signals (xpan is good for this)
2 stereo LPGs with 1 separate effects path = 1 DXG
2 stereo LPGs with 1 combined effects path = 1 DXG
2 stereo LPGs with 1 additional aux input for chaining = 1 DXG
See what I mean? Making the outputs independent doesn't solve the problem because you still need to mix it back together somehow. I hope this isn't just fan-boy-ism on my part... all the patches people are describing rely on both mix and LPG functionality. Play the chess game just slightly better and think about how this is similar to optomix whose 2 LPGs work like this:
2 LPGs with 2 separate effects paths = 1 Optomix + something to mix 2 audio signals together
2 LPGs with 1 separate effects path = 1 Optomix
2 LPGS with 1 combined effects path = 1 Optomix
2 LPGs with 1 additional aux input for chaining = 1 Optomix
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!
