Edit: Actually, That’s not true. It all came from Mouser apart from some resistors, the 2n3958 and the two V2164s.

I haven’t looked at how the V2164’s are used in the 25S, but a bad/fake 2N3958 would not cause the problems you are seeing. A bad/fake 2N3958 would affect the Timbre circuit causing the wave folder to not smoothly fold the sine wave.
