After some years of messing with Nord Modular G2 Demo Software (version from electro-music forum, so it has a bit more funtions that initial demo download, but it still has certain limitations) on my PC, I think of getting a Micro these days (I mean, I'd love to have G2 but its out of my price range currently).
So I have same question about midi interface... I was thinking of getting either Steinberg UR22C or Behringer UMC204HD, anyone had experience with those brands while connecting to nmg1/nmm editor?
On a side note, for those who are micro users, how often do you find yourself "hitting the ceiling"? Considering it's 1/4 power of base nmg1 or 1/8 of expanded version.

Have you tried Wren? It's made by one of admins of electro-music forum, it's perhaps not very stable but free and obviously inspired by G2. Personally, as much as I enjoy VCV Rack, I feel that Nord Modular Editor's approach of things resonantes more with me (overall I prefer software modulars to be eeeeh how'd I say that? taking advantage of being software instead of trying to imitate hardware; which is why I enjoy stuff like pure data, max/msp, reaktor, audulus and others a bit more).Yep, nothing comes close. I still miss my NM2 I sold more than 10 years ago. I've tried all the alternatives, sticking to the VCV now which is the closest you can get to the "real" modular in the software realm, but nothing compares to making a patch in NM. It was so easy, intuitive and fun to patch.
