Or just get a good quality delay with a decent time range that performs well under modulation, then use patching to create all the different modes you could ever want? This is modular after all.
Something with variable buffer length, playback speed, multiple taps, access to the feedback loop for outboard filtering (although you don't even really need that, because you can mix the output back to the input externally in your patch!... and maybe stereo... but make sure it has modulation inputs for these things... and you will have infinity modes!
The most important thing IMO is that it can be completely wet with none of the dry sound in the output. Without that it is way less useful (I'm looking at you Hampshire Electronics :-()
